Summit School has three components of the elementary program depending upon the needs of the student referred.
The Learning Disabilities program serves students who have significant learning problems in the
areas of reading, mathematics and/ or writing.
CREST is a program for students who have difficulty generalizing their learning. Many of the children
in this program are very high functioning children, but have difficulty interacting with their peers
and need a particularly small structured learning environment. The program is based on thematic learning
to help students utilize their learning.
The Autism Spectrum Disorder Program serves young children who are significantly impacted by autism and need
alternative methods of communication to help open them to their learning potential.
The children in these programs are placed at Summit because the intensity of their needs demand a multisensory
approach for academics and an environment that is structured to prevent any undo anxiety which would interfere
with academic progress and social development.
